FAQ
A few things to know before you join an Hour.
WHAT IS SHARED HOURS?
Shared Hours is a space for curated experiences that bring people together around different perspectives, activities, and shared moments that matter. Each Hour is shaped through a thoughtfully designed setting, a clear intention, and space for people to take part in different ways.
WHO ARE THE HOUR LEADS AND HOUR COMPANIONS?
The Hour is shaped by the people in it and becomes shared through those who take part.
Hour Leads can be individuals, communities, companies, or organizations bringing meaningful work, lived experience, knowledge, skills, or perspectives into an Hour. They are not there to perform or lecture, but to take part alongside others and help shape how the experience unfolds.
Hour Companions are the people who join Shared Hours as participants. They may come because they are curious about a perspective, activity, place, or experience, want to meet people in a different setting, or simply want to spend their time in a way that feels worth showing up for. You do not need specific knowledge, experience, or background to join.
HOW CAN A SHARED HOUR TAKE SHAPE?
A Shared Hour is not designed as a lecture or networking event, nor is it simply about putting people together for an activity.
Each Hour may take a different shape depending on the format, perspective, activity, or setting. Some may center around conversation, while others may involve learning, movement, exploration, reflection, or other ways of spending time together. The structure may vary, but each experience is designed for people to take part, stay curious, and engage in their own way.
In conversation-based formats, the topic serves as a starting point rather than a strict boundary, allowing the exchange to move naturally while staying connected to the spirit of the Hour.
You may meet new people, but there is no expectation to pitch, impress, or exchange contacts.
WHAT WILL AN HOUR FEEL LIKE?
Each Hour can feel different. One may be reflective, another playful, active, exploratory, or somewhere in between. What stays consistent is the intention to create an experience that feels considered, open, and easy to take part in, whatever form the Hour takes.
WHO CAN JOIN, AND CAN I JOIN MORE THAN ONCE?
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT EACH HOUR?
Anyone who is genuinely interested in the experience is welcome. Shared Hours brings together people from different backgrounds who are open to different perspectives, activities, and shared moments. You are also welcome to return, as each Hour may explore a different format, perspective, activity, or setting.
The group size, inclusions, location, and other practical arrangements may vary depending on the format and nature of the Hour. Please refer to the individual experience details before joining.
